The Rock and Rouge Festival will take place on June 16, 2018 at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint. This inaugural festival will host all female fronted bands, chefs, and vendors. In addition, it is also the first festival to feature women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. The Rock & Rouge Food and Music Festival is presented by Lani Ramos, founder of Big Pearl Music, LLC, who wanted to sponsor a festival with a larger female-to-male ratio than what you typically see at festivals. Lani Ramos is also a native New Orleans musician.

The Festival features a variety of topics and activities including:

Tomboy Tent (ages 8-15) - STEAM workshops for young girls and a performance stage for female-led bands

What’s Next - a series of panel discussions on STEAM, politics, the future of women in the music field

Female Chefs - food stands serving dishes from local female chefs.

These are some of the many activities for you to visit, and it is free and open to the public with donations accepted. For additional information, please click the following link: http://therockandrouge.com/about-us/.
